Our story began in 2017 at Virginia Tech, where we met one night during the spring semester at a party. We had our first date the very next day at Deets Place, a cozy coffee shop, where our connection only deepened over three hours of conversation. From that moment, we quickly began to craft a relationship built on adventure, laughter, and a love for the simple things.
In those early years, we spent weekends hiking, picnicking at Dismal Falls, off-roading in Reid’s truck, date night at the drive in theater, and cooking meals together. These little adventures became the foundation of our relationship, and even as we faced the challenges of long-distance, they kept us close.
Over the past eight years, our relationship has evolved as we’ve grown individually while staying true to one another. We’ve nurtured our passions, finding ways to complement and support each other’s goals. Even during the challenging times—like the long-distance period—we learned to grow separately, which only strengthened our bond. A cherished tradition in our relationship is our Friday night dates. Every week, we walk to a local restaurant, enjoying each other's company, getting some fresh air, and sharing our week’s stories over a meal. It's the perfect end to a busy week and a time we never take for granted.
On October 13, 2024, Reid proposed to Lindsey in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. After a beautiful morning hike to the waterfall known as The Sinks, Reid dropped to one knee, and in that serene, intimate moment, Lindsey said yes. It was a moment they will both treasure forever, surrounded by nature and each other.
Together, we’ve made unforgettable memories exploring the world together, hiking through national parks, camping under the stars, and even cooking at home. Each trip has added a new chapter to our journey. At home, we’ve poured our love into renovating Reid’s grandparents’ house, creating a space that’s truly our own. Our growing garden is a reflection of that—each year it gets bigger as we continue to cultivate new things.
As we look ahead, we’re most excited about continuing to grow together. We can’t wait to face the future as husband and wife, building a life full of love, adventure, and endless possibilities.
